Christian Kids Music with Aussie accents — Is there enough?

I love Aussie Christian children’s music.

Colin Buchanan.

Emu Kids.

Dan Warlow.

Johnny Burns, Ben Pakula, Hillsong Kids, Praise Blast, a bunch of the Mainly Music artists…

Just love ‘em!!

I love Aussie Christian children’s music, but I’m not convinced there’s enough of it!

Especially for young children.

When my children were younger I took great pleasure in introducing them to quality, age-appropriate music.

Each car trip I’d have a CD playing (pre-Spotify you see. These days my eldest daughter Josie assumes the role of DJ - but at least she occasionally takes requests from the rest of us 😉 )

Plenty of what we listed to were classic home-grown, Aussie artists — Playschool, The Wiggles, Susie and Phil, Peter Combe — I gave them the goods!

But finding Christian Aussie pre-school kids music was a somewhat trickier (thank you Emu Music for helping there 🙏 )

Frankly, I’d like to see our children spoilt for choice when it comes to God-glorifying songs sung in an AUSSIE ACCENT!

Not that I don’t enjoy foreign accents!

In fact, our Little Music Church animator, Skyler Libby, from sunny California, sports a delightful accent.

In case you missed it, here is a short video where Skyler introduces our Little Music Church characters.

(We are truly grateful to have Skyler in our team — as you will see from her drawings she is a gifted young woman. Moreover, she has a heart to see the gospel of Christ reach children through animations.)

Here you will meet our Little Music Church friends -

Mia, Danny, Sue and Ollie, and SQUOKKLES!

You will see these guys again in two videos coming up soon -  Biggest Fan and My God Is Higher.

The next batch of songs from our album Growing — an album of God-glorifying pre-school kids music sung in an Aussie accent — is just around the corner!!

Can’t wait.

Until then,

Keep growing in Him!
